Afia N. Yunus, ESQ.
Ms. Yunus is the Principal Attorney and Founder of Yunus Law. Her practice focuses exclusively on U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law. She represents clients from all over the country and abroad in employment based immigration, family based immigration, and also in removal defense before the U.S. Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
Ms. Yunus has obtained approvals for clients applying for PERM labor certification, E-2 Investor Visas, National Interest Waivers, H1b Visas, L1 Visas and employment-based U.S. Lawful Permanent Residence ("green card") for foreign nationals ranging from small business employees, student visa holders, and employees of multi-national corporations and educational institutions. Prior to founding Yunus Law, Ms. Yunus accrued extensive business immigration experience at a well-known local immigration firm in Chicago managing over 200 clients.
Ms. Yunus also has extensive experience with family based immigration applications and petitions to USCIS and the Department of State. She has successfully represented clients in applications for naturalization, adjustment of status, F1 and B change of status requests, and extensions of status in business immigration and family immigration matters. This includes applications for fiancé visas, petitions for spouses, children, and siblings of U.S. citizens, Requests for Humanitarian Reinstatement and Humanitarian Parole, and much more. Ms. Yunus also has a vibrant removal defense practice getting her clients asylum, cancellation of removal, and other forms of relief from deportation. She has successfully filed on behalf of her clients Motions to Advance, Cancellation of Removal for LPR and non-LPR clients, and Motions to Terminate removal proceedings.
Ms. Yunus believes in providing a full-service experience to her clients. Once hired, Yunus Law gives full service representation, including preparing and filing the applications, assisting with getting medical records, drafting affidavits for clients, and much more. She ensures all clients get a detailed briefing prior to any USCIS or embassy interview, attends interviews with her clients, drafts business plans, letters of recommendation, and forms business entities for her business immigration clients, assists clients in obtaining social security cards and benefits, and more.
She is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Illinois, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and Immigration Courts nationwide. She is an active member in good standing of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 2012, the National Association of Muslim Lawyers, and the Muslim Bar Association of New York.

Education
Ms. Yunus received her B.A. degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and received Dean's Honors List distinction every semester. She earned her J.D. degree, Cum Laude, from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2010 with a Certificate in Public Interest Law. At Chicago-Kent, she was awarded the CALI award, Dean's Certificate of Service Award, and was on the Dean's Honor List.
She is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois Federal District Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and Immigration Courts nationwide. Ms. Yunus is fluent in Urdu and Punjabi.
Community Advocacy
Ms. Yunus is actively involved in her community and is passionate about inter-faith community engagement, increasing diversity, and assisting the immigrant community at large. She currently serves as an immigration legal advisor to ICNA's Center of Social Justice (CSJ) justice hotline. She provides free legal advice through regular Facebook LIVE events on Yunus Law's Facebook page that help educate the community on topics related to immigration, immigrant rights, education and constitutional rights for undocumented immigrants, and many others. Afia also currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the One America Movement. The One America Movement's mission is to build a united American society by eliminating toxic polarization.
With unique expertise in immigration law coupled with her passion to serve her community, Mrs. Yunus delivers talks, hosts workshops and seminars, and coordinates coalition building between minority communities and different faith communities in working towards a common goal of immigrant justice in the United States. She provides workshops and seminars to educate the broader public, particularly immigrants, on the immigration process, common pitfalls and tips on avoiding them, and knowing your rights. She has spoken at numerous institutions throughout South Jersey, including Camden County College, Rutgers University, and various local religious institutions. Topics include: Know Your Rights, Being an Undocumented Student, Muslims and the Border in a Post Trump World, Executive Orders and the Travel Ban, When ICE agents are at Your Door, Driving While Undocumented, Immigration Policy and Reform, and much more.
Afia has served on the Human Relations Advisory Committee of the Mayor of Cherry Hill, NJ and on the Recruitment and Community Outreach Advisory Board for Camden County College and on the Board of Directors at GCLEA, a prominent mosque in Cherry Hill, NJ.
She has been actively involved in supporting her local refugee community through a partnership with the Catholic Charities of Camden and with Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) Relief.

Yousra Chatti is admitted to practice Law in the State of New York.Mrs. Chatti holds an L.LM degree from Pennsylvania State University. She was selected to become a clinical student at the Center for Immigrants' Rights Clinic and worked with the Pennsylvania Immigrant Family Unity Project (PAIFUP); HIAS Pennsylvania, Nationalities Service Center, and Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center on a research project about Detained immigrants and Access to Counsel in Pennsylvania.
Yousra Chatti also holds a master's degree in Common Law from the Faculty of Juridical, Political, and Social Sciences of Tunis, Tunisia where she graduated with honors among the top 3 in her class. While pursuing her law degree, Mrs. Chatti interned at Attias Law firm in Paris, France and joined Ouerfelli Attorneys and Counsels upon graduating.
